A SPECIAL HORSE ARCHIVE

"A special horse"

 Supreme Print

‘83 Palomino mare. Bred by Bill Wilmeth. Sired by Skips Print out of Supreme Charm by Skip's Supreme.

Superior Halter – High Point 2 yr Old Palomino Mare
in the Nation. Reserve World Champ (youth) Mare
with a total of 256 Halter Points.

The first time I saw Supreme Print, I knew this was one of the best mares I had ever seen. Not because she had a huge hind leg or having muscle (as commonly referenced), but this mare exuded class, pretty and presence, and a type we all strive for.

Supreme Print had been like a “daughter” to Bill for many years before his dispersal and was bought by David Westbrook at that time. She lived in Gainesville, Texas for several years. David and I had bought most all of Bill’s best mares at his dispersal and I had told David on several occasions if he ever sold her, I’d like to have her.

One day several years ago, David called and offered her to me and a deal was struck. He met me in Mississippi and to the East Coast she came. I’ve bought mares as far away as California but never was I more sure of an addition to head our broodmare band.

Not only was this mare a “great” show mare, but each of her foals carry all of her class, disposition and “showiness”. These traits are being carried on here at the Ecker Ranch through her son, “Supreme Skippa”. All of his colts are stamped with the good traits that I strive for in my breeding program.

Probably the most accredited foal (full brother to Supreme Skippa) is Supreme Type, a 12 time World and Reserve World Champion Palomino Gelding.

We have 2 of her colts here at the Ecker Ranch, one on the way, and one in the planning stage (embryo transfer). This mare is a credit to the breed and her breeder, Bill Wilmeth (one of the founders of Authentic Linebreeders’ Alliance), and I’m proud to be associated with them both.

Good luck in the future and please come and visit Pam and I if you’re ever on the East Coast.
